The Standards are the foundation of the BARS Program
The Basic Aviation Risk Standard consists of a suite of risk-based aviation safety standards with supporting implementation guidelines. All standards are developed and presented in the bow-tie model for easy understanding and include a set of controls and defences for the identified risks.
Within the standards, there are operational categories for a wide variety of specialist roles such as airborne geophysical survey operations, night vision goggle operations, winching and hoist operations, medevac or helicopter external loads.
Standards currently available:
- Contracted Aircraft Operations – Our general standard
- RPAS Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems – the dedicated standard for all things flying without a pilot on board
- Energy & Utility – the dedicated standard for operations like aerial inspection, aerial spraying, or construction
- Offshore Helicopter Operations – the dedicated standard designed for oil and gas rig and offshore wind farm operations
- Animal Management – the dedicated standard for aerial mustering.
