Governance
The BARS Program Office is managing the BARS Program.
It holds an ISO 9001 quality standard certification. It is responsible for the observation program whereby selected audits are observed to confirm the BARS Program requirements are being met in the conduct of the BARS audit.
The contents of the BAR Standards are derived from the needs of BARS Member Organizations. Member representatives coordinate input through the Technical Advisory Committee.
The BARS Program Office has a standards review team to evaluate proposed changes to the Standards for technical accuracy prior to release.
Each BARS registered audit company is required to maintain a system of regular evaluation on the performance of their BARS auditors. The audit company is also required to have its own internal quality assurance program.
