This training enables participants to understand, assess and develop strategies to manage risks associated with contracted air transportation in challenging and remote onshore and offshore environments.

OBJECTIVES

  • “Aviation 101” for participants with little to no aviation knowledge:
    • Basic principles of flight & aviation operations,
    • Specifics of resource sector aviation,
    • Frequently used aviation industry terms;
  • Provide a detailed overview of the BARS Program and the BAR Standard;
  • Explain basic aviation risk principles;
  • Provide a range of tools that assist personnel to identify hazards, risks, and threats specific to their company’s aviation operations and the contracted aviation sector.

WHO’S IT FOR – ONSHORE?

This training is especially valuable for executive managers with accountability for decisions that directly impact the selection of service providers for aviation activities. It is open to participants from all departments involved in the development, monitoring, implementation, and enhancement of aviation safety activities. The training is designed for:

  • Mine/site asset managers
  • Contract administrators
  • Corporate assurance/risk managers
  • Executive managers
  • Any accountable onsite personnel
  • All personnel who are involved in aviation operations as part of their day‐to‐day activities.
