Become a BARS Auditor
BARS auditors are accredited experienced aviation experts who ensure that the high standards of the BARS Program are met by aircraft and RPAS operators.
BARS Accredited Auditors
Experienced auditors with strong aviation experience can become BARS accredited auditors. They must complete our Auditor Accreditation Course.
To ensure that the experience within the program matches the requirements of BARS Member Organizations and aircraft operators, only trained and experienced participants with strong aviation experience can be accepted to achieve accreditation.
Before applying, please make sure to review our comprehensive selection criteria checklist:
If you meet our selection criteria and would like to become BARS registered, please apply by writing an email to the BARS Program Office including all necessary documentation and the BARS Auditor Application Form:
RPAS Auditor Accreditation
Accreditation for RPAS auditors is limited to RPAS operations. RPAS auditors are not permitted to conduct BARS audits on aircraft operators.
Accreditation as a BARS RPAS auditor requires the following:

- Completion of the BARS Auditor Accreditation Course
- Completion of our online training for the BARS RPAS standards (several hours required, no cost involved)
- Becoming associated with one of the BARS audit companies to achieve BARS auditing exposure as an observer in non-RPAS audits and final approval as a BARS RPAS auditor.

Application Process
Auditor applications follow these steps:
- Your application will be reviewed by the BARS Program Office Team.
- You will be advised about your eligibility as BARS auditor.
- You can then register for a BARS Auditor Accreditation Course.
- Upon successful completion of the course and employment with a BARS registered audit company, you can begin conducting BARS audits.
