Overview

Unlock the full potential of your auditing skills through the BARS Program.

This comprehensive training program will equip you with essential techniques and methods to conduct effective audits evaluating the safety practices of aircraft operators globally.

The program framework introduces participants to the elements of the BARS Program focusing on assessing compliance with safety regulations, identifying potential risks, and driving ongoing improvements in safety practices.

Content

The three-day program is both practical and participative through discussions, group exercises and case study analysis. Participants will engage in:

  • The role of various stakeholders including client, audit companies, aircraft operators and other interested parties.
  • The BAR Standard, BARS Implementation Guidelines and their interaction with the audit checklist.
  • Protocols of various types of BARS audits: BARS two-day audit, BARS aerial work audit & operational categories.
  • Audit management including audit planning, follow-up and closure of audit reports and program documentation.
  • The context of BARSoft in storing and managing audit data and the analysis of data collected through the BARS Program.

Learning Outcomes

Objectives of the program will engage the conformance and compliance of the BARS Program through:

  • Gain a solid knowledge foundation in the BARS Program.
  • Master the BARS Standard and Implementation Guidelines.
  • Develop expertise in BARS audit methodology.
  • Learn to effectively use and complete audit checklists for BARS audits.
  • Understand executive summary and report writing as per BARS Program policy.
  • Discover the quality control (QC) process used by the BARS Program Office before report publication.
  • Exposure to BARSoft, the software for tracking all audit activities.

Who’s it for?

This program is suited to experienced auditors who wish to obtain BARS standard accredited qualifications for the purpose of progressing their career with entities permitted to conduct official audits of aircraft operations for the purpose of BARS registration.

Prerequisites

The course is open to experienced flight operations or maintenance and or engineering personnel with aviation lead auditor qualifications.

It is also open to those auditors who do not yet meet the prerequisite minimum qualifications to become a BARS auditor but who expect to meet those requirements within twelve months of completing the course (subject to prior approval by the BARS Team).

Other personnel such as aircraft operator safety and quality representatives, and BMO safety specialists who wish to gain a deeper insight into the BARS audit process may also apply to attend as an observer.

Application Process

Ensuring that the experience within the program matches the requirements of BARS Member Organizations and aircraft operators, only trained and experienced participants with strong aviation experience can be accepted to achieve accreditation.
