Benefits for Operators

1

A single audit is accepted by over 40 different contracting companies. This includes 8 of the top 10 global mining companies.

2

The annual independent assessment of the safety and operational systems supports safe operations whilst providing services under a contract.

3

Various scopes of audits suitable for different types of specific operations: BARS covers contracts from the simple provision of small capacity passenger flights through to complex and specialist aerial work activities.

4

Possible reduction of effort on authority oversight: A growing number of civil aviation authorities and regulators will accept a BARS registration as a means for assessing their cycle and depth of surveillance on the Operator. This is in line with the goals of the ICAO Global Aviation Safety Recommendations for utilization of industry programs.

5

Flight Safety Foundation Membership is included in the BARS registration, providing exclusive access to members-only material, discounts on FSF events, and the opportunity to participate in international working groups and committees.

6

Access to Program Connect of the World Food Programme and the Flight Safety Foundation. Program Connect enables operators to offer services to the World Food Programme.

7

Observer status to the BARS Technical Advisory Committee, shaping the future of the BARS Program and that of global contracted aviation safety;

8

Access to the BARS Program document library through our dedicated software application BARSoft as a convenient repository to retrieve program documents.

9

Aircraft operators have the choice from various BARS registered audit companies with accredited auditors.

10

Make flying safer for everyone around the globe: Every operator in the program automatically adds to the gathering of accident/incident and audit data in BARSoft. This data is de-identified, so that no conclusion can be drawn back to the company. Then, it is analyzed and the results are returned to the industry in form of safety recommendations and improvements.

11

Make your company visible to customers as a frontrunner in flight safety: BARS registered aircraft operators can use the BARS logo to distinguish themselves as a company committed to go above and beyond the minimum regulatory requirements.

12

Become a more attractive employer: BARS registered aircraft operators find it easier to attract highly skilled and safety-oriented personnel, like pilots and other specialists, in an increasingly tight labor market.
