Mar 4, 2020

Students registered in an Australian Society of Air Safety Investigators (ASASI) recognized education programs, including studies in aircraft engineering, operations, airline management, aviation psychology, aviation safety or aircraft occurrence investigation are invited to apply to the Flight Safety Foundation Macarthur Job scholarship.
In recognition of Macarthur Job’s contribution to air safety investigation and outstanding achievements in aviation safety promotion, the Macarthur Job scholarship will, for the first time, provide an outstanding opportunity for a student to attend the ANZSASI Annual Seminar to enhance their knowledge of Air Safety Investigations.
Flight Safety Foundation prides itself on being Independent, International and Impartial in the cause of aviation safety advice, guidance and resources. The ASASI objective is ‘Air Safety through Investigation’. David Anderson, Regional Manager, FSFLtd commented “the collaboration between ASASI and FSF and our mutual objectives provide the perfect platform to further both of our messages and encourage students to become more involved in the field of aviation safety and aircraft occurrence investigation”.
The successful recipient will be awarded with the annual allocation of up to AUD$2000 to support return travel, accommodation and registration at the annual ANZSASI seminars held in Australia and New Zealand.
According to the scholarship criteria the applicant will be selected by their academic merit by submitting a 2000 word paper, in English, addressing a topic nominated by Flight Safety Foundation. “The students will be judged on their content, original thinking, logic and clarity of expression within their papers. It will be exciting to see to the quality of submissions and how they are executed”David said.
To be eligible, a student must be a current student at an Australian ASASI recognised education program and meet all eligibility requirements stated in the application form. The student must complete the application form and submit it to the ASASI Secretary with their paper by April 30th of the current year.
For more information see https://asasi.org/students-area/ to download the application form.
