Brownlow Award Given to WSJ’s Pasztor

Nov 1, 2011

Singapore, November 1, 2011 — At the opening session of the Flight Safety Foundation’s 64th annual International Air Safety Seminar in Singapore, FSF presented Andy Pasztor of the Wall Street Journal with the Cecil A. Brownlow Publication Award.

Mr. Pasztor received this award in recognition for his ongoing outstanding coverage of worldwide safety issues in airline and corporate aviation.

“In a media world with a declining number of dedicated aviation beat reporters in the largest papers, Andy is a consistent voice explaining key aviation issues to a non-specialist audience,” commented FSF President and CEO, William R. Voss. “He goes beyond simply examining accidents and fault findings and delves deeply into issues at the core of aviation.”

The Cecil A. Brownlow Publication Award, sponsored by IHS Aviation Information, is given each year in order to recognize significant contributions by journalists to aviation safety awareness. “Andy’s role with the Wall Street Journal gives him access to top-level decision makers and he has demonstrated an ability to explain complicated issues without undue alarm or sensationalism,” Voss continued.
