Asia-Pacific Airline Leader to Keynote Day 3 of IASS 2020

Sep 28, 2020

MELBOURNE, Australia ─ Subhas Menon, director general of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA), will be the keynote speaker on Day 3 of Flight Safety Foundation’s 73rd annual International Air Safety Summit (IASS) on Oct. 21. IASS 2020 will be held virtually Oct. 19−22, and the theme for this year’s event is “Safety Leadership and Global Collaboration During Crisis.”

Menon, who joined AAPA after 35 years with Singapore Airlines Group, will give his perspective on the current state of the industry. The Day 3 opening session is scheduled to begin at 0900 Singapore time (0100 UTC) on Oct. 21, which is 2100 EDT Oct. 20. Following Menon, IASS 2020 will proceed with presentations on Safety II and using data to drive safety improvements. The afternoon session will focus on what pilots can do to most effectively manage safety in different flight conditions.

The IASS 2020 program comprises a mix of live and prerecorded presentations and panel discussions. The program will start in the morning in a different time zone each day so the sessions are convenient for as broad an audience as possible. For example, Day 1 will begin at 0900 EDT (1300 UTC), but Day 2 will begin at 0900 Central European Time (0700 UTC).

The program also features a series of on-demand sessions that will be available for attendees to view at their convenience, as well as opportunities for exhibitor/attendee networking.

Visit the IASS 2020 page on the Foundation’s website for more information on the program and speakers and to register.
