Alexandria, VA – The Flight Safety Foundation announced today that Jon Beatty, former President and CEO of International Aero Engines, has been named as its new President and CEO.

Mr. Beatty comes to the Foundation after a distinguished career as an aviation executive. Along with his recent experience with International Aero Engines, he spent time in several executive positions at Pratt & Whitney, BF Goodrich and Allied Signal Aerospace. He is also a member of the Wings Club and the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA).

“After a thorough search process that considered a number of top candidates, we are delighted that Mr. Beatty has agreed to be our new President and CEO,” stated David McMillan, chairman of the Board of Governors. “He brings an international executive perspective that will be instrumental in moving the Foundation into its next chapter as the leading voice of aviation safety around the world. We are fortunate that someone with his background and skills will lead our team.”

“Running a Foundation with the international outreach and primary focus on safety will be a new experience for me,” said Mr. Beatty. “With the quality of the staff, the Board of Governors and the reputation of the Foundation, we are going to begin an exciting new chapter for aviation safety and I’m looking forward to getting started.”

Mr. Beatty will officially start in his new position on April 21, 2014.
