Phoenix, AZ, May 15, 2006 — More than 400 aviation professionals gathered last week in the Arizona desert near Phoenix for two days of information sharing at the 51st annual Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar (CASS). The attendance set a new record for the CASS meeting.
Held at the Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa in Chandler, AZ, the seminar offered corporate aviation safety professionals an opportunity to hear presentations on some of the most important and timely topics facing the industry. The safety topics ranged from accident investigation to flight data analysis to discussions of best practices in certain flight situations.
The highlight of the seminar was a talk given by National Transportation Safety Board Member Deborah Hersman, who updated attendees on NTSB’s progress investigating several recent high profile corporate aviation accidents.
“We broke a record with more than 400 attendees and they took away valuable safety information that, where applicable, could be used immediately in their own operations,” commented Flight Safety Foundation President and CEO Stuart Matthews. “The presentations were first rate and very informative for everyone there.
Plans are already under way for next year’s CASS in Tucson, AZ, with a call for papers in July.
