MELBOURNE, Australia — Flight Safety Foundation is pleased to announce that OK Tedi Mining Ltd (OTML) has joined the Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Program as a BARS Member Organization.
Capt. Karo Yama, OTML manager, Logistics, said, “We are very pleased to be a part of the BARS Program. We look forward to working with the program for the continued safety of our personnel and the ongoing commitment for our aviation service providers to meet all appropriate standards.”
OK Tedi Mining Ltd is a state-owned company that operates an open-pit copper, gold and silver mine in the Star Mountains of Western Province, Papua New Guinea (PNG). Working with the BARS Program will assist OTML in ensuring the continued safety of its personnel and a commitment that all its aviation service providers meet all appropriate standards.
BARS Managing Director David Anderson said the relationship with OTML demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the BARS Program to assist the resource sector in effective management of its aviation risk
