FSF Statement on EgyptAir Flight 804

May 19, 2016

ALEXANDRIA, Virginia — Flight Safety Foundation expresses its condolences to the families and loved ones of the 66 passengers and crew onboard EgyptAir Flight 804, a scheduled commercial flight from Paris to Cairo that crashed Thursday morning. The wreckage has been located near Karpathos Island, southeast of the Greek mainland, according to the International Civil Aviation Organization. An international team of air safety investigators will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the crash. It is important that speculation about possible causes does not interfere with the investigative process.
