MELBOURNE, Australia — Flight Safety Foundation congratulates Greg Hood on his appointment as the next chief commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), effective 01 July 2016.
Hood, who has had a long career in aviation, most recently served as executive general manager of Airservices Australia, the country’s air navigation service provider. His experience and leadership will be valuable in his new role, where he can continue the work of the ATSB in the ever expanding area of transport safety.
Both the Washington and Melbourne offices of the Foundation look forward to working further with Hood and the ATSB on new and continuing initiatives.
The Foundation also wants to recognize retiring Chief Commissioner Martin Dolan for his seven years of service with the ATSB. In this time, the ATSB has continued its work in supporting transportation safety by means of thorough investigations and research.
