Paris, France – At the annual Aviation Awards dinner in conjunction with the Paris Air Show, the Flight Safety Foundation today awarded their Cecil A. Brownlow award to the Federal Aviation Administration’s FAA Safety Briefing.
The Brownlow award is giving out each year in recognition of significant contributions to aviation safety by a journalist or publication. “We are recognizing FAA Safety Briefing due to its history of helping the general aviation community to better understand safety and regulatory issues,” stated FSF President and CEO, Kevin Hiatt.
“This publication is also designed to convey to its audience the safety resources available from the FAA and it achieves all of this due to its informative, yet conversational style,” Hiatt continued.
FAA Safety Briefing covers many of the topics of importance to the safe operation of general aviation, including weather, medical certification, flight instructor guidelines, and technological information. The magazine is available in many formats such as PDF and e-reader, and on Twitter and Facebook, making it very accessible to the entire general aviation community.
“The Foundation is pleased to recognize the achievements of AA Safety Briefing in fostering professionalism and safety-conscious practices in the GA segment of the industry,” Hiatt stated.
