Foundation Launches New Membership Effort

Sep 10, 2012

Alexandria, VA, September 10, 2012 – The Flight Safety Foundation announced today that it is launching an updated membership effort with an increased focus on additional segments of the industry. This new effort is supported by an updated website that allows for on-line registration for new members and provides comprehensive information about the benefits of an FSF membership.

“We are very excited to renew our work with parts of the aviation industry that haven’t necessarily been a prime focus of our effort for the past few years,” stated Kevin Hiatt, chief operating officer at the Flight Safety Foundation. “Look for far more work on issues that affect airports, maintenance and other new areas.”

The new membership effort divides FSF members into categories such as air carriers, airports, support services, manufacturers, government and several more. Companies can also show their commitment to aviation safety by joining the Foundation as a Benefactor or Patron.

The Foundation made these changes to allow for a much better understanding of the concerns of specific segments of the industry. “By dividing our membership into these distinct categories, it will allow us to better serve them,” noted Susan Lausch, senior director of membership. “We can better identify pressing safety concerns for individual segments and work to develop solutions. This will also help us identify potential new members who may be interested in joining the Foundation and supporting our safety work all around the world.”

Starting in early 2013, the Foundation will introduce its member-only portion of the website, providing even more valuable information for members. A full listing of the new membership categories and benefits can be found on the FSF website . A membership application can also be accessed through this webpage.
