Santiago, Chile – In recognition of its important articles thoroughly discussing safety issues, the Flight Safety Foundation announced today that the 2012 recipient of the Cecil A. Brownlow Publication Award is Alan Bradbury of Korusafe, the Air New Zealand flight safety magazine.
The magazine is produced for ANZ crewmembers and ground personnel and covers perennial issues such as time pressures, night and winter operations and birdstrikes, as well as growing concerns such as lithium battery fires and volcanic ash impact on operations.
“This magazine covers important issues using an outstanding graphic design, ensuring that information is presented memorably,” stated William R. Voss, president and CEO, FSF. “We’re pleased to recognize the important work that Korusafe is doing to deliver important information. Any airline or flight department could benefit from this magazine.”
The Cecil A. Brownlow award is presented each year in order to recognize significant contributions by journalists to aviation safety awareness. The recipient of the award is sponsored each year by IHS Aviation Information which provides transportation to IASS and a $1000 prize.
