Runway overruns and the risk of collisions from runway incursions are included among seven items on the Transportation Safety Board of Canada’s (TSB’s) Watchlist of safety issues that present risks in the country’s transportation sectors. 

The Watchlist, issued in mid-October, also contained items that apply to other sectors of the transportation industry in Canada, not only to the aviation industry. Those issues, the Watchlist said, are human fatigue and ineffective management of safety risks — problems that also affect marine and rail sectors — and Transport Canada’s (TC’s) regulatory surveillance — an issue throughout the transportation industry.
