On July 3, 2015, the pilot of an Airbus Helicopters AS350 B3e operated by Air Methods lost control and the helicopter crashed into a parking lot seconds after taking off from the Summit Medical Center Heliport in Frisco, Colorado, U.S., killing its pilot and injuring the two flight nurses on board. The subsequent National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation determined that the aircraft had lifted off without hydraulic assistance to its tail rotor after the pilot forgot to switch the system back on following a routine, pre-takeoff hydraulic system test.

Years later, on June 18, 2021, while parked on its stand at Heathrow Airport in London, a British Airways Boeing 787 suffered a nose landing gear collapse while maintenance troubleshooting was being conducted prior to a cargo flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
