The Hawker Beechcraft 390S Premier 1 was on final approach to the airport in Subang, Malaysia, when it suddenly descended into terrain, killing the eight people aboard the aircraft and two people on the ground. The Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) of Malaysia determined that the accident likely occurred when the pilot lost control of the aircraft after the copilot inadvertently extended the lift dumpers (ground spoilers) while conducting the Before Landing checklist.

The accident occurred in visual meteorological conditions the afternoon of Aug. 17, 2023, at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. Both pilots were of Malaysian nationality and held airline transport pilot certificates issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in March 2023. The pilot-in-command (PIC), 41, was certified for single-pilot operation of the Premier. The PIC had 6,275 flight hours, including 37 hours in type.
