The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) reports limited progress in receiving acceptable responses to some of its 53 outstanding safety recommendations, including 26 recommendations in the aviation industry.
The board closed two of the 26 recommendations in the first half of 2022, the TSB said in its annual reassessment of responses to its recommendations, issued in late June; one recommendation called on Transport Canada (TC) to amend the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) to “remove any ambiguity associated with the definition of “safety belt.”
The TSB issued the recommendation after its investigation of the Dec. 14, 2017, crash near Tweed, Ontario, of an Airbus Helicopters AS350 B2 that killed three power line technicians.
