The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reports “incremental progress” in the past year toward implementations of many of the safety recommendations associated with its 2021–2022 Most Wanted List of Transportation Safety Improvements.
The eight recommendations that the NTSB now considers closed, however, involve modes of transportation other than aviation. Some 167 additional recommendations, including 19 recommendations that deal specifically with aviation safety, remain open. Of those, the NTSB is awaiting responses on two recommendations; seven others are classified as “open – unacceptable response,” and 10 are classified as “open – acceptable response.”
