Next year marks Flight Safety Foundation’s 75th anniversary. In 1947, two young organizations dedicated to aviation safety, and a handful of visionaries that included Jerome Lederer, Richard Crane, David Morrison and Gloria Heath, came together and formed the international, independent and impartial nonprofit that we know today as Flight Safety Foundation.
A lot has changed in aviation and the world since 1947. Significant advances in technology and training, a focus on the human-machine interface, and the study of human factors have propelled the industry to an enviable safety record as air travel has grown into a global connector of people and communities.
