Former Head of Irish Aviation Authority Takes Over at Eurocontrol

Eamonn Brennan, formerly the chief executive of the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), has taken over as director general of Eurocontrol. He succeeds Frank Brenner, whose term ended on Dec. 31.
Brennan’s term at Eurocontrol began Jan. 1.

In his position at the IAA, Brennan was responsible for providing air traffic management (ATM) in Irish-controlled airspace, aeronautical communication over the North Atlantic, and air traffic control at major Irish airports, as well as regulating the safety and security of civil aviation in Ireland.

In his 35 years in aviation, he also has served on the executive board of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation as chairman, global deputy chairman and a member; as chairman of the COOPANS Alliance Board, providing ATM services in Austria, Croatia, Denmark, Ireland and Sweden; and as chairman of Eurocontrol’s Air Navigation Services Board, among other positions.
