MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) is pleased to welcome Nautilus Minerals to the BARS Program as a new Tier 2 BARS Member Organization.
The signing of this agreement establishes a working relationship between Nautilus Minerals and the Foundation.
Adam Wright, Nautilus Minerals VP PNG Operations, said, “We are very pleased to be part of the BARS Program. It is a complete and cost-effective package that will allow us to manage our aviation risk and provide us with a high level of safety assurance.”
Wright said the BARS Program would assist Nautilus Minerals in ensuring the safety of personnel once the company’s Solwara 1 Project is up and running in 2018.
“The safety of employees, contractors and visitors is our number one priority, and we look forward to working with BARS to ensure our aviation service providers meet all appropriate standards,” he said.
BARS Managing Director David Anderson said the partnership between Nautilus Minerals and Flight Safety Foundation is another great example of how the BARS Program can help the resource sector to procure and manage aviation service providers in a cost-effective manner.
“The Solwara 1 Project is a unique operation and a world first in ocean floor mining on such a large scale. For Nautilus Minerals to use the BARS Program as their primary method for risk oversight in this complex environment is a testimony to the program’s flexibility and versatility,” Anderson said.
“The BARS Program delivers a high standard operator audit, performed in a consistent manner year in and year out, and to a standard designed for resource sector clients.
