FSF Statement on Germanwings 4U9525

Alexandria, VA – Statement from Flight Safety Foundation president and CEO, Jon Beatty on the crash of Germanwings 4U9525:

“We join with the entire aviation community in expressing our sorrow on the loss of Germanwings flight 4U 9525 today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the passengers and crew and their families and loved ones.

Germanwings has not has a major accident before today and the Airbus 320 has a fleet of nearly 6200 aircraft operating worldwide. We expect that the investigators from the French and German authorities will find the black boxes and the cause of this tragedy will be determined quickly.”
