FSF Recognizes Aviation Achievements at Annual Seminar

Seoul, Korea, October 3, 2007 — The Flight Safety Foundation honored excellence in aviation safety at its 60th annual International Air Safety Seminar in Seoul, Korea. FSF Chairman Ambassador Edward W. Stimpson, FSF President and CEO William R. Voss and Chairman of the Safety Awards Committee of the International Federation of Airworthiness Dr. Ron Yates made the following presentations:

Flight Safety Foundation Presidential Citations — Peter Naz, Flight Safety Officer, DHL, and Maimuna Taal, former head of DGCA of the Republic of The Gambia;

Richard Teller Crane Founder’s Award — EVA Airways Corp., accepted by Steve Lin, Chairman of EVA;

Flight Safety Foundation–Boeing Aviation Safety Lifetime Achievement Award — John K. Lauber, Senior Vice President, Airbus, co-presented by Steve Atkins, Vice President, Product Integrity and Technical Excellence, Boeing;

Flight Safety Foundation Airport Safety Award — Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, accepted by Allen Parra, Vice President of Operations, DFW;

Admiral Luis De Florez Flight Safety Award — William McNease and Gerald Pilj, U.S. Federal Aviation Administration;

Cecil A. Brownlow Publication AwardSkySafety 21, Korean Air’s safety magazine, co-presented by Chip Geisthardt, Product Manager, IHS, accepted by Dave Huntzinger, Vice President of Safety and Security, Korean Air;

Aviation Week and Space Technology Distinguished Service Award — Jean Pinet, former President, Academie de l’Air et de l’Espace;

Honeywell Bendix Trophy for Aviation Safety — Gulfstream, co-presented by Shon Bourgeois Sr., Program Manager, Honeywell, accepted by Mike Mena, Director of Advanced Cockpit Programs and Tom Horne, Project Pilot for Synthetic Vision;

International Federation of Airworthiness Whittle Safety Award — Steven Swift, Principal Engineer, Airframe Durability, Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority;

The Laura Taber Barbour Air Safety Award — John R. Ackland, Senior Technical Fellow (retired), Boeing Commercial Airplanes.
