ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Keynote remarks from U.S. National Transportation Safety Board Member Michael Graham and panel discussions on operational resiliency and on mental health in aviation will open Flight Safety Foundation’s Business Aviation Safety Summit (BASS), scheduled for April 30–May 1 in Austin, Texas, U.S. Among the experts addressing mental health will be Dr. Susan Northrup, the U.S. federal air surgeon.
Day 2 of BASS will feature keynote remarks from Jermaine “Caddy” Cadogan, operations manager at Convergent Performance, who will discuss building a culture of excellence and proactive compliance in maintenance operations.
The summit, now in its 69th year, is organized in partnership with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). The theme of this year’s BASS, which is being held at the Austin Marriott Downtown, is “operational safety resiliency — are you as good as you think?” It covers a broad range of topics, including runway incursions and excursions, flight path management, fatigue risk management, and practical solutions for risk reduction.
The event is designed to be a collaborative environment where industry professionals can share insights and learn from each other to improve overall aviation safety. This focus is reflective of the summit’s long-standing mission to serve as a pivotal gathering for the advancement of aviation safety standards and practices.
