Complacency has become the greatest risk to air safety, according to European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Executive Director Florian Guillermet’s summary of presentations at this year’s EASA Annual Safety Conference.
In a Nov. 24 statement, EASA said speakers at the conference, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, told those attending that strong safety performance throughout Europe in recent years has given way to complacency.

Our discussions show that we are starting to get a better grip on the safety risks at stake today and that we have a common mindset.
