ICAO Urges Coordinated Response on COVID-19 Recovery Plan

Civil aviation authorities around the world must do a better job of aligning their responses to the COVID-19 pandemic and their planned recovery efforts, Fang Liu, secretary general of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), says.

In remarks to directors general of civil aviation from Europe and South America, Liu urged the application of guidelines developed by the ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force (CART), which has a stated goal of providing “practical, aligned guidance to governments and industry operators in order to restart the international air transport sector and recover from the impacts of COVID-19 on a coordinated global basis.”
